This is the closest temple from pondicherry . Just 6 km from manakula vinayagar temple. The deity presiding is Narashimhar in his ugra ( angry ) form with ten hands,its is located amongst a calm village called abhisekapakkam very close to arvind eye hospital . Amoung the three the most interiorly located in poovarasankuppam. Its nearly 35 kms from singrikudi . Everyone knows about this temple and will help u in giving directions. The temple dates back to the 7 h century . The deity presiding is Narashimhar in his calm form with goddes lakshmi in her lap. Among the three narashimhars only this narashimhars image can be kept at home. The temple is located in the middle of a village Poovarasankuppam .
Parikkal :
Parikkal is some twenty five km from poovarasankuppam . Its has two routes 1. from poovarasankuppam via banruti 2. from villipuram its is the shortest . on national hisgway its located at 10 kms after villipuram . The diety presiding has a uniqueness. of all narashimhars with lakshmi this is the only temple where goddes lakshmi embraces narashimhar with her right hand. The village hence gets the name Parikkal . It is in this place that goddess lakshmi tries to pacify Narashimhar .
